Hi all, this is not a rant or a moan just a quick message to ask what is the policy of turning back for club members? I am not the fastest nor the slowest just average. I want to run with the faster group but feel worried that i will get left behind, after i am new to the area and each run i have been on has taken me somewhere different and left me a little lost. But hey its great to see some new areas of Buxton. Neither do i want to race on wednesday night which sometimes happens, there again if thats what people want to do then fine let them. I am sure there are others like me that want to run with faster group but are unsure if they will keep up.

Though if i run faster more people would see my advert on the back of my top :D
Though being slow does mean i don't get lost in races as i just follow the runners in front :D

Hi Paul, I run with the fast group, and am a firm believer in turn-backs at regular intervals.
This was a courtesy taught to me by Graham Morson (When I first joined the club and I was often the last person), and I've always tried to promote it since.
Though a few do stand talking  at the turn-back, most do return to the last runner to collect them up.
As for running in unknown territory, again, most of the routes will soon become familiar, especially Brown Edge week after week after week etc in the winter months, and as stated, we always re-group so no one falls behind.
Onto your advert on your back, most of the routes this time of year take in the fells, so only Flossy the sheep will see that on Combes Moss!!
Don't worry, you'll be fine!!
Cheers, Nigel

Hi Nigel, i enjoyed last nights run and once again seen places in Buxton that i never knew where there. I was a bit surprised to see a large cross on top of a hill.

Yes it was fine, though the seeing across was a bit strange, can't make the next couple as working on a running project that i need to get finished and put to the chairman.
