The Buxton Half Marathon - Sunday 25 May 2008
This is the 27th Buxton Half Marathon. We tried the Sunday date last year and the response from you, the competitors, was overwhelmingly positive. Simon Moorhouse is the Organiser this year. Telephone enquires regarding the race can be made on 01298 - 78978 after 7 pm please.
This year's race will take place on Sunday 25 May 2008. The race starts at 11.00 near Buxton Opera House and finishes on the Pavilion Garden Promenade. Registration will take place in Pavilion Garden, please click here to find where the registration takes place.
The course remains the same as last year, with testing long uphill sections and long downhill sections that will result in fatigue in the quadriceps. The scenery more than make up for the suffering, though the front runners will not spend too much time taking in the views.
We had a decent sized field this year, with 230+ runners arriving in Buxton for our annual tour of the scenic part of the Peak District just south of the town. The results of this year's race were as follows:

Dewsbury Road Runners won the Men's team competition convincingly with four runners in the top eight. The Telford HArriers Ladies took the Ladies Competition.?

The entry fee is £8.00/£10.00 for club/unattached runners. There are limited entries on the date at £1 extra.
All finishers will receive a t-shirt.
